Mille951 Gavi del Comune di Gavi, Produttori del Gavi, Piedmont
The 2024 Vintage
"Mille951" is a tribute to history. Named after the year the Produttori del Gavi was founded (1951), this wine represents the collective soul of the region. It is classic, unpretentious, and utterly reliable.
In Italy, the local "Cantina Sociale" (cooperative) is often the beating heart of the village. Produttori del Gavi brings together over 80 small growers who farm the steep, limestone-rich slopes around the town of Gavi. Because they control such a vast area of vineyards, they can select only the best fruit for this label.
Crucially, this is a "Gavi del Comune di Gavi" - meaning the grapes are sourced strictly from the central township, not the outskirts. Fermented in stainless steel to lock in the freshness, it captures the floral elegance and crisp acidity that made the Cortese grape famous in the first place.
