Champagne for Christmas Day

The first glass of the day, from Bollinger, Veuve Clicquot, Moët, Taittinger and Ruinart

Every Champagne here is one we'd open on the morning itself: the big-house classics in their gift boxes, magnums for a full table, and vintage and prestige bottles for the year that deserves one. Boxed or plain, all ready to chill.

Which Champagne to open on Christmas morning

The names people recognise are here for a reason: Bollinger Special Cuvée, Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label, Moët Brut Impérial and Taittinger Brut Réserve are the bottles most of the country will be opening, and each comes in our signature gift box with a hand-tied ribbon if you want it to sit under the tree first. For something lighter and less familiar, Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, Pommery Apanage and the grower Champagnes from Autreau and Goutorbe are the ones we'd reach for. The wider range is in our Champagne gifts collection.

Magnums for a full house

A magnum holds two bottles and pours around twelve glasses, which is usually the whole table sorted in one go. It also looks the part carried in from the kitchen. Bollinger Special Cuvée, Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label and Moët Brut Impérial are all here in magnum, each in a gift box with ribbon.

Vintage and prestige for the year that deserves it

Some Christmases call for the bottle you've been meaning to open. Bollinger La Grande Année 2018, Taittinger Comtes de Champagne 2014, Dom Pérignon 2018, Krug Grande Cuvée, Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle and Pommery Cuvée Louise are all in stock. Each comes gift boxed - the house's own box where there is one, our signature box otherwise - and finished with a hand-tied ribbon. These are the bottles to open slowly, with the people who'll notice.

Delivered ready to chill

Every gift-boxed bottle is finished by hand with our large hand-tied ribbon and a message card. Everything ships fully tracked across the UK, with next-day delivery on orders placed before our 1pm cut-off and Saturday delivery available. For guaranteed Christmas delivery, order by 1pm on 22 December for delivery on the 23rd - and earlier is safer. For the rest of the season's range, see Christmas gifts.

FAQs About Champagne for Christmas Day

How many glasses does a bottle of Champagne pour?

A standard 75cl bottle pours six flutes; a magnum pours around twelve.

How long should I chill Champagne before opening?

Three to four hours in the fridge, or twenty to thirty minutes in an ice bucket filled with ice and water. Never the freezer.

Will it arrive before Christmas?

Yes, with the right order date. Next-day delivery runs on orders placed before 1pm, with Saturday delivery available. The last guaranteed slot is 1pm on 22 December for delivery on the 23rd - we'd recommend ordering earlier.

Do the bottles come gift boxed?

Most do - each product page shows the box and ribbon. A few grower Champagnes are sold as plain bottles for opening rather than giving.
