Alheit Vineyards

Established in 2011, Alheit Vineyards has become one of the leading voices for South Africa’s heritage white varieties and old, dry-farmed bush vines. Founders Chris and Suzaan Alheit source fruit from rare, low-yielding vineyards across the Western Cape, focusing on Chenin Blanc and Semillon grown in exceptional sites. A restrained, low-intervention approach in the cellar preserves clarity and texture, allowing each vineyard to express its character. The result is white wines of depth, freshness and subtle saline precision, widely regarded among the Cape’s most compelling modern releases.

Western Cape

The Western Cape is the heart of South African winemaking, shaped by dramatic mountain ranges and the cooling influence of both the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Its varied soils, from decomposed granite to sandstone and shale, create remarkable diversity across the region’s vineyards. From the maritime freshness of Constantia and Hemel-en-Aarde to the structured reds of Stellenbosch and the Swartland, the Cape produces wines of character and balance. Combining deep heritage with confident modern winemaking, the Western Cape consistently delivers Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc and Syrah of depth, freshness and structure.
