Arboleda Carmenere, Aconcagua Valley (2022)
The 2022 Vintage
Arboleda was established by Eduardo Chadwick - the visionary force behind Chile’s iconic Seña and Viñedo Chadwick - with the singular goal of producing world-class, single-vineyard wines. The estate is named for the native forests that frame their sustainably managed vineyards, a natural border that preserves the unique biodiversity of the Aconcagua Valley.
The fruit is sourced from the Las Vertientes vineyard, a site uniquely influenced by the cool breezes of the Pacific Ocean. This cooling effect allows the Carmenere grapes to undergo a slow, even ripening process, which is essential for developing the variety's signature complexity while maintaining high natural acidity. The wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels (25% new), a precise maturation that polishes the tannins and introduces sophisticated layers of mocha and spice.
This is a profoundly elegant expression of Chile’s heritage grape. It delivers a concentrated profile of blackberries and dark cherries, elegantly woven with notes of black pepper, roasted bell pepper, and dark chocolate. For the collector or enthusiast, Arboleda provides a masterclass in balance, offering a velvety texture and an intellectual depth that marks it as a benchmark for cool-climate Carmenere.
