Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Champagne NV in Second Skin Eco-Friendly Packaging
Ruinart was founded in 1729, the oldest Champagne house of them all, and Chardonnay has always been its signature. This Blanc de Blancs is the house calling card: 100% Chardonnay drawn from 25 to 30 different crus, predominantly the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims, with Sézannais fruit for maturity and a touch from the Vallée de la Vesle for freshness.
Made in stainless steel with full malolactic and a generous portion of reserve wines, then aged in Ruinart's Roman chalk cellars deep beneath Reims. A modest dosage keeps it taut. The result is a Champagne built on the chalk and tension that define great Chardonnay.
Expect ripe lemon, pear and white peach, a floral lift with a spicy note of ginger and pink peppercorn, and a fine, persistent mousse over a chalky, mineral finish. Elegant and precise rather than weighty. Serve well chilled, around 8°C.
This bottle comes in Ruinart's Second Skin case - a fully recyclable, plastic-free shell made from sustainably sourced paper, moulded to the bottle's distinctive curved shape.
