Lothian Vineyards Pinot Noir | Elgin Valley | Fulham Wine Co. – The Fulham Wine Company

Lothian of Elgin

Situated within the Kogelberg Biosphere in South Africa’s strikingly cool Elgin Valley, Lothian of Elgin is a modern benchmark for Burgundian-inspired winemaking. Framed by mountain peaks and the Palmiet River, the estate’s high-altitude vineyards benefit from an exceptionally long, slow ripening season that builds detail and natural structure. Under the guidance of Master of Wine Richard Kershaw, the focus is firmly on precision and restraint, producing single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with clarity, tension and quiet power. These are beautifully balanced wines that marry vibrant fruit purity with refined, Old World structure.

Elgin

Encircled by the dramatic Hottentots-Holland mountains, Elgin is South Africa’s coolest and most exciting fine wine region. This elevated plateau is shaped by strong Atlantic breezes and regular cloud cover, creating an exceptionally long, slow ripening season that preserves natural acidity and detail. The result is Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah with purity, tension and precise structure. Away from the heat of the wider Cape, Elgin produces wines of clarity and restraint, combining fresh New World fruit with refined, Old World balance.
