Mahi Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough 2022

An excellent wine, very much in the style of Sauvignon Blanc that made Marlborough famous, pungently aromatic with superb texture and palate weight and fresh overall crispness. A small proportion of the wine is barrel fermented adding complexity and richness.

Conscious that Marlborough was in danger of losing its identity, Brian's (co-founder of Mahi) vision for Mahi was to highlight the individuality of particular vineyard sites rather than conforming to the regional stereotype.

The focus for Mahi with the Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is to provide a wine that has texture and depth, rather than focussing solely on primary fruit notes.
