Mahi, meaning "our work, our craft" in Maori, was founded by Brian Bicknell to challenge the regional stereotype and showcase the true depth of Marlborough’s terroir. By sourcing fruit from four distinct vineyard sites - from the cooler Fareham Road to the southern Ward district - this Pinot Noir achieves a level of complexity and structure rarely seen at this price point.

The 2023 vintage is a masterclass in "hands-off" winemaking, using indigenous yeasts and partial whole-bunch fermentation to build a rich, supple texture. Aged for 15 months in French oak barriques, the wine is bottled unfined to preserve its natural energy and savoury soul. It is a sophisticated, mouth-filling red that proves Marlborough can produce Pinot Noir with real grit and personality.
