Chris and Suzaan Alheit founded their family estate with a singular, clear-eyed focus: to find and protect the "heritage" vineyards of the Cape. Cartology is their definitive map of the region’s viticultural history, a masterful blend of old-vine Chenin Blanc and Semillon.

Widely considered the wine that redefined the modern South African white wine landscape, the fruit is sourced from non-irrigated bush vines grown on diverse soils - ranging from granitic slopes to sandstone mountains. The winemaking is intentionally hands-off; the grapes are whole-bunch pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in old French oak barrels and concrete eggs. This unhurried approach allows the wine to develop a profound natural texture and a deep, saline-flecked minerality.
