Taittinger is one of the few great Champagne houses still owned by the family whose name is on the label, and Brut Réserve is its calling card. What sets it apart is the blend: an unusually high proportion of Chardonnay - around 40%, rare for a non-vintage Champagne - which gives it the lightness and finesse Taittinger is known for.
Drawn from over thirty-five different crus and aged several years in the house's chalk cellars, it's a delicate, elegant style rather than a big or powerful one: peach and citrus, white flowers, a touch of brioche and honey, all carried on a fine, persistent mousse.
