Terrazas de los Andes Reserva Malbec (2022)
Terrazas de los Andes makes its wines high up in the Andes foothills, on some of the highest vineyards in Mendoza. The thinking is simple: the higher the vines, the cooler the nights, and the fresher and more perfumed the Malbec. This Reserva is their signature bottling, and it's made from a blend of over 100 different plots that are being farmed organically.
Up at altitude, strong mountain sunshine ripens the fruit while cold nights keep it fresh, which is what gives this wine its lift and its bright, floral character. It's made in a deliberately fresh, fruit-forward style with only a short time in barrel, so the focus stays on the fruit rather than heavy oak.
Expect juicy dark fruit - blackberry, plum and cherry - with the violet note that's typical of mountain-grown Malbec, and a soft, easy finish. Approachable and versatile. Serve at around 16-18C.
