The 2024 Vintage

The 2024 growing cycle across Chianti Classico saw abundant winter rainfall that perfectly sustained the vines through a distinctly hot, arid summer. Careful canopy management at the Pèppoli estate shielded the Sangiovese clusters from direct sun, ensuring the fruit retained its vital, energetic acidity while developing a deeply expressive, floral aromatic profile.

The Fulham Wine Co Take

This is a brilliant, fruit-forward Sangiovese that skips the heavy oak for pure drinkability. It delivers bright cherry flavours and immediate energy, trading austere tannins for immediate charm. An expertly crafted, highly reliable choice for everyday Italian drinking.

Tenuta Pèppoli

Located in the historic heart of the Chianti Classico region, the Pèppoli estate has been a cornerstone of the Antinori family’s portfolio since 1985. The vineyards face a unique east-northeast microclimate, producing Sangiovese grapes with vibrant aromatic profiles and electric acidity. By favoring maturation in large Slavonian oak casks, the estate deliberately preserves the wine's pristine floral and cherry notes rather than obscuring them with heavy wood. Pèppoli delivers a masterclass in modern Tuscan elegance, offering a bright, dynamic expression of Chianti Classico that is profoundly structured yet effortlessly graceful.

Chianti Classico

Stretching between Florence and Siena, Chianti Classico is the historic, forested heartland of Tuscan winemaking. Defined by steep, high-altitude vineyards and rocky galestro soils, this rugged terroir forces the native Sangiovese vines to struggle, producing exceptionally low yields of supreme quality. The dramatic temperature shifts lock in electric acidity and vibrant aromatics of wild cherry, crushed violet, and distinct earthy minerality. Far removed from the broader Chianti region, the strictly bordered "Classico" zone yields tightly coiled, profoundly elegant wines that represent the aristocratic soul of traditional Tuscany.
